# **⌨️ The New Windows 11 Copilot Key Feature!**

This key was initially designed to launch Microsoft’s AI assistant, Copilot— But now, there’s an exciting change of plan:
**Microsoft is now **[**testing a feature **](https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2024/09/20/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-22635-4225-beta-channel/)**that lets you customize the Copilot key to open any app you want!**
_Yep, you could set it to launch your favorite app, whether it’s a productivity tool, browser, or even Spotify._😃

However, **there’s a small catch**—_the app has to be an MSIX-packaged app that meets certain security standards._
And get this: this new key is part of Microsoft’s bigger plan to get users on board with their AI assistant.
But here’s where things get a little tricky: When Microsoft rolled out Copilot Plus PCs earlier this year, they made Copilot into a web app in the latest Windows 11 24H2 update.
_It sounds cool, right? But it made Copilot less useful. _
[For example,](https://www.theverge.com/2024/6/21/24182979/microsoft-copilot-key-keyboard-shortcut-pwa) you can no longer control system settings like dark mode through the assistant.
So, while the key is new and exciting, Copilot itself lost some of its seamless integration with Windows. Strange, right?
Still, Microsoft seems to have big plans for Copilot, although we’re not totally sure what those plans are just yet.
_This customization feature is only available to beta testers_ for now, and if you’re one of the lucky ones, you can try it out today.
_But if not, then don’t sweat it—it’s only a matter of time before this feature rolls out to everyone._

# 🔋** Microsoft Turns to Nuclear energy for its AI power Needs!**

Microsoft just entered into a [power purchase agreement](https://www.theverge.com/2024/9/20/24249770/microsoft-three-mile-island-nuclear-power-plant-deal-ai-data-centers) to bring the long-closed Three Mile Island nuclear plant back to life.
[Constellation,](https://www.constellationenergy.com/newsroom/2024/Constellation-to-Launch-Crane-Clean-Energy-Center-Restoring-Jobs-and-Carbon-Free-Power-to-The-Grid.html) the plant’s owner, will invest $1.6 billion to revive it; however, they’ll need approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and permits from state and local agencies.
If all goes well, we can expect the plant to be back online by 2028!
_Microsoft, in turn, has agreed to purchase power from the plant for 20 years, marking a first-of-its-kind deal for the tech giant. _
For context, the plant can generate 837 megawatts of energy—enough to power more than 800,000 homes—_demonstrating the huge amount of power needed for data centers._🤯
That means Microsoft would have exclusive rights to 100 percent of the output that its AI data center needs.
But it doesn’t end there – this agreement also represents a significant step forward in Microsoft’s mission to decarbonize the grid and work towards becoming carbon-negative.
Oh, and before we forget: _The plant will be renamed the Crane Clean Energy Center in honor of the late Chris Crane, former CEO of Exelon._
