This comes almost a year after the first rumours about their collaboration, but there’s still not much detail.

The project is funded by both Ive and Emerson Collective, the company owned by Laurene Powell Jobs.
It’s expected they could raise [$1 billion ](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/21/technology/jony-ive-apple-lovefrom.html)by the end of the year, though earlier rumours of a $1 billion investment from SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son haven’t been confirmed.
The team is small, with only 10 employees, including Tang Tan and Evans Hankey, who worked with Ive on the iPhone.
LoveFrom, Ive’s company, is leading the design work.
The team is based in a 32,000-square-foot office in San Francisco, which is part of a $90 million real estate purchase by Ive.
